FREE LIVE Webinar–Relational Permanency: The Role of Foster Parents in Supporting Child Relationships
April 25 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Relational permanency for youth means having lifelong connections to caring adults, including at least one adult who will provide a permanent, parent-like connection. Webinar participants will explore the concept of how to apply a relational permanency model to youth in foster homes and those who are reunified with their families of origin. Discover how shifting your mindset can create a community support model that helps youth thrive no matter their placement status. Join us and consider how you might share a lifelong commitment to a child and their family and how foster parents connect with siblings and like-kin members of a child’s relationship circle.
Presented by: Dana Johnson (MSW) is the Strategic Initiatives Coordinator in the Bureau of Permanence and Out of Home Care. Dana has served in his position for over two years, assisting in developing strategies for child welfare transformation, supporting children and families involved in the foster care system, and coordinating policy efforts to improve outcomes for kids and families. Dana has worked in public child welfare county and non-profit systems for over 13 years in case management, supervision, senior leadership, and child welfare education and training.
Free | Registration is limited to 500 participants
Licensed foster parents will receive 1.5 training credits for participation in this webinar. Each individual participant must register separately in order to receive credit.
