(Free Webinar) Mental Health 101: An Introduction to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Wisconsin

Join the Wisconsin Family Connections Center for an introduction to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Wisconsin. In this webinar, parents and caregivers will learn the differences between mental health and mental illness, different diagnoses and how they can present, and guidance on how to assist their child during a mental health crisis.

Presented by: Emilie Smiley, M.P.A. (she/her/hers)

Emilie is the Program Director at NAMI Wisconsin, overseeing the NAMI Wisconsin Programming Team. NAMI Wisconsin’s Programming Team supports 18 programs across the state of Wisconsin in support, education, and awareness for those living with mental illness and their families and communities. Emilie focuses on supporting all Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT) and Crisis Intervention Partners (CIP) teams, coordinators, and training in Wisconsin. The Crisis Intervention Programs provide best practice training for law enforcement and other direct service individuals who interact with those in a mental health crisis. Emilie has a background in social services, including crisis management, program management, and trauma-informed care. Emilie received her master’s degree in public administration, concentrating on Nonprofit Leadership, from Clark University.
