This webinar provides in-depth information on how to welcome, affirm, and best serve transgender and gender-expansive youth in out-of-home care. Topics include the diversity of identities and experiences among these young people, what we know about their mental health experiences, and guidance on how to assess whether a mental health provider can provide affirming services. Together, we will explore promising practices on creating a gender-inclusive environment in child welfare systems and tips for ensuring you are an affirming presence in the lives of transgender and gender expansive youth.
