Webinar: Beyond 18 Individualized Programming

Through this webinar, attendees will become familiar with the Transition Programming Beyond Age 18 Guidance, the components and foundation in building meaningful, individualized programming as well as state and federal requirements. The importance of collaboration between schools, outside agencies, and families will be discussed. Attendees will leave with resources to take back to IEP teams to help guide in robust transition planning.
Presenter: Shelley Burke-Otto is a Transition Specialist for the Transition Improvement Grant (TIG). She has 24 years of experience in the classroom as a High School Transition Teacher, focusing the last few years on helping build beyond 18 programming. While working in the district, she was a CCoT facilitator, Indicator 14 surveyor, and Youth Apprentice Coordinator. She worked with all students with IEPs and youth in Alternative Education to create individualized transition programming. She has a Masters in Education with a BS in Vocational Rehabilitation and Special Education. She also holds a license in Alternative Education and has supported many diverse students and families as they travel on their transition path.
