WiFCC Day at a State Park: Whitefish Dunes
May 18 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
The Wisconsin Family Connections Center invites adoptive, foster, guardianship, relative/kinship, and reunified families to kick off a season of nature exploration with a Day at Whitefish Dunes State Park in Door County! You will have the opportunity to stock up on water and snacks and meet and greet with other families before you head out on your adventure. All families will receive a scavenger hunt activity and a 2024 season vehicle admission sticker for Wisconsin’s State Parks (limit of one pass per family)!
From the park website: Whitefish Dunes State Park protects the fragile dune environment on the eastern Door County Peninsula. At this day-use park, stroll along Lake Michigan or on one of the many trails throughout the huge sand dunes and forest. A nature center features year-round programs, exhibits, and displays. The park’s reservable picnic shelter overlooks Lake Michigan and is adjacent to the nature center, beach, and hiking trails. For more information about the park, visit their website at https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/whitefish.
Please register as soon as possible as spots are limited! If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to skintopf@cclse.org.
