Youth Voices Rising is a media and journalism training program for young people with lived experience in the foster care and juvenile justice systems, operated by Fostering Media Connections (FMC). Launched in 2016, the program provides youth with the skills and confidence to share their stories, advocate for system change, and amplify their perspectives through journalism. Youth participants are paid for their published work, centering the voices of those most affected by the systems being reported on. (See also: Fostering Media Connections, id 17870.)
