Adoption Knowledge Affiliates

Adoption Knowledge Affiliates (AKA) is an Austin, Texas-based nonprofit connecting individuals, families, and professionals in their adoption journey through lifelong education, peer support, and community building. AKA hosts an annual conference featuring diverse voices from across the adoption constellation — with particular emphasis on adoptee and birthparent perspectives — along with peer support groups for adoptees, birth/first parents, and adoptive parents. They also maintain a resource directory of adoption-competent professionals and organizations.
