I Feel Better Now! Intervention Program
I Feel Better Now! is a 10 session, evidenced-based researched group program for children ages 6-12 years old. It addresses violent or non-violent trauma. The group process is based on an educational model of teaching, exploring, guiding, normalizing and reframing experiences. It is program of TLC’s Structured Sensory Intervention for Traumatized Children, Adolescents and Parents (SITCAP®).
In 2007 university approved evidenced-based research with core city traumatized at-risk children second through fifth grade. Remarkably statistically significant symptom reductions demonstrated in all areas.
In 2005 independent research study of TLC’s I Feel Better Now! Program in a hospital setting with groups of children exposed to domestic violence, DeVos Children’s Hospital, Michigan. “Children saw clear and clinically significant reductions in trauma-related symptoms and behaviors regardless of concurrent medical or emotional diagnosis.”
