Teens write about group home staff, caseworkers, social workers, teachers and foster parents who have helped them (and some who haven’t). Foster youth expect much from staff, including emotional support and access to services. Yet, because teens often have a history of poor relationships with authority figures, communication between teens and staff can be affected by miscommunication, mistrust, and even hostility.
